Dr Shangchun TENG Honoured with EGU Outstanding Early Career Scientist Award

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) has named the 49 recipients of 2025 Union Medals and Awards, Division Medals, and Division Outstanding Early Career Scientist Awards. These individuals are honoured for their important contributions to the Earth, planetary, and space sciences. In the Planetary and Solar System Sciences (PS) Division, Dr Shangchun Teng, Research Assistant Professor of the Department of Earth Sciences, received the Outstanding Early Career Scientist Award for her important contributions to the understanding of plasma wave dynamics and their role in shaping the space environments of planetary bodies.
Teng’s main research focuses on understanding the fundamental characteristics of plasma waves in planetary space environments, particularly in geospace. Her work also explores the physical processes of wave-particle interactions. These studies aim to explore the transport of matter and energy within the diverse space environments of various planets.
The award recipients will be honoured during the EGU General Assembly 2025, which will take place from April 27 to May 2.
