Meet Our Mascot -- Currio the Science Owl

We are excited to introduce you to Currio, our new mascot and ambassador of HKU Science family!

Across many cultures, owl is a symbol of wisdom and endurance. Some even consider it a defender of honour and truth. Derived from the meaning ‘curiosity’, the name Currio symbolises the characteristics of scientists – erudite, curious, inquisitive, constantly questioning why and how everything works. Currio’s role is to personify the spirit of scientists while embodying intelligence and perseverance.

You will be seeing Currio across our website, social media platforms, diverse publicity channels and maybe even events in the future. Hope you like this new fellow as the visual representation of our Faculty.
