In January 2020, I took up the role of the Chairperson of the Management Committee of the HKU-TCL Joint Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the TCL Corporate Research (Hong Kong) Co. Limited to support the establishment of the Joint Research Centre, and to join in the engagement with HKU in the field of AI.
The Joint Research Centre will combine the expertise from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science for the development of AI research in HKU. Research proposals and projects under the Joint Research Centre are soliciting, and post graduate students in AI are will be trained. In addition, visiting scholars in AI from around the world will be hosted in the Centre. The Joint Research Centre will contribute to Mainland and Hong Kong through research and development of Artificial Intelligence.
