HKU and Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinse Academy of Sciences (CAS SIMM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster research collaborations

HKU Dean of Science Professor Matthew Evans and Director General of CAS SIMM Professor Jia Li signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Shanghai on April 18, 2019. Professor Chi-ming Che, Head of Chemistry and Zhou Guangzhao Professorship in Natural Sciences, representatives from the Department including Professor Hongzhe Sun, Norman and Cecilia Yip Professorship in Bioinorganic Chemistry, Professor Pauline Chiu, Dr Xiaoyu Li, Dr Ying Li and Dr Edmund Tse and two Academicians from CAS SIMM Professor Kaixian Chen and Professor Jianmin Yue also attended the Signing Ceremony.

The agreement does not only foster research collaborations and joint laboratory establishment, but also enhances students’ learning experience by offering student exchange opportunities and joint training at graduate levels.
