| | The Poster Presentation of HKU Science Undergraduate Research (SRF/ORF/URFP) was conducted on October 13, 2025. | |
This year, a total of 98 SRF/ORF/URFP participants joined the Poster Presentation to share their research findings with our professors and fellow students. All participants and their projects were divided into five groups based on their fields of research, including Group A - Quantitative Reasoning (Mathematics); Group B - Quantitative Reasoning (Statistics and Actuarial Science); Group C - The Physical World (Chemistry & Earth and Planetary Sciences); Group D - The Physical World (Physics); and Group E - Life and Living (Biological Sciences & Biochemistry). A Selection Panel members of Science Teachers, the SRF and ORF participants, and URFP summer research internship awardees were invited to evaluate their fellows’ posters design, content and presentation, selecting the best presenter from each group. The six best presenters were:
Group A Quantitative Reasoning (Mathematics) Mr Qiu Jiongcen (SRF Scheme) Supervisor: Prof Chan Kei Yuen, Department of Mathematics Project Title: From Homology to Derived Functors | Group B Quantitative Reasoning (Statistics and Actuarial Science) Miss Wong Hoi Yat (ORF Scheme) Supervisor: Prof Cao Haoyang, Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Johns Hopkins University Project Title: Optimal Switching via Randomized Formulation: A Numerical Approach |
