Suspending classes on the Main Campus for the rest of the semester

Important message from the Senior Management Team

Dear students,

In view of the uncertain and unsafe traffic conditions for travelling to HKU, we are suspending classes on the Main Campus for the rest of the semester and making teaching and learning accessible online. This will enable students to stay away from campus, and even leave Hong Kong should they wish, while at the same time completing their courses and assessments.

Individual instructors will upload to Moodle detailed arrangements for course delivery and assessment. Examinations will be moved online or replaced by alternative forms of assessment. Details will be circulated in the next few days.

For help with travel arrangements out of Hong Kong, non-local students are advised to contact either the China Affairs Office or the International Affairs Office.

細味人生 — 科學為我開的一扇窗

生活之道:價值與能量 — 林超英

林超英先生最廣為人知的身份是前香港天文台台長。在是次的講座中,他將與觀眾分享他生活中的樂趣,以及在學術領域中和社會上所追求的願景、一直持守的理念和價值觀。主持人亦會透過對話,了解更多林超英先生對於好奇心、幸福、生命價值及未來社會發展的看法。

活動亦歡迎觀眾提問並加入對話。我們希望通過分享和交流,觀眾都得了解到科學帶來的各種可能性和受到啟發。

 

Mr Lam is mostly known as the former Director of Hong Kong Observatory. In the dialogue session, he will share his latest curiosity with audience, as well as his motto and values guiding through his pursuit in academic field and service in Hong Kong society. Our facilitators will lead the dialogue session to cover a wide range of issues, from curiosity and happiness to value of life, to visions of future societal development.

Audience are also welcome to ask questions and join the dialogue. We hope that via sharing and exchange of insights, we all can be inspired by the possibilities brought by science.

 

*The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Please indicate on the registration form at least two weeks before the talk if you need simultaneous interpretation, student helpers will be arranged to assist. Request(s) indicated less than two weeks before the talk cannot be guaranteed.
