Two student teams from the Laboratory for Space Research (LSR) earned Silver and Bronze medals at the International Space Science and Scientific Payload Competition (ISSSP), held at Cyberport from 27 to 29 November, under Track 2: Innovative Design of a Space Payload Experiment. The teams were recognised for two proposed China Space Station experiments. Dr Chung To Kong (Andy) and Dr Andreas Ritter from LSR also received Best Instructor Awards for their guidance to the Silver-winning “Spectro” team.

Since its launch in 2022, the ISSSP has brought together more than 2,000 competitors from over 80 universities across 30 countries and regions, fostering global collaboration and innovation in space science and engineering. This year, 60 teams participated, and the LSR also served as an official supporter of the competition.
