Many of us are now using AI in our research in ways that have gradually become part of the normal workflow, sometimes in small steps, sometimes in more transformative ways. These developments are happening across departments and units, often without much visibility beyond our immediate circles.

To create a space for internal sharing, the Faculty of Science is organising an AI for Science Mini-Symposium, bringing together colleagues and research students from the Faculty, the Institute of Data Science, and the School of Computing and Data Science.

Event Highlights
Industry Keynote: Ms. Maryann Tseng (Head of International Capital Markets, SenseTime) will open the symposium with her insights into AI innovation, investment, and the global capital landscape.

Research Showcase: Moving beyond general theory, a series of focused presentations demonstrating AI's integration into the research workflow:

  • Data-driven and model-assisted discovery in the life and physical sciences
  • AI-supported imaging, prediction, and optimisation pipelines
  • Mathematical and algorithmic perspectives underpinning scientific AI
