Faculty of Science secures funding for high-quality cross-disciplinary research projects in 2023/24 Collaborative Research Fund (CRF)

In the recent announcement of the Research Grants Council (RGC) 2023/24 funding exercise, the Faculty of Science has achieved funding for two projects under the Collaborative Research Fund (CRF), with a total funding of HK$12.2 million. This year, the awarded projects include one Collaborative Research Project Grant (CRPG) and one Young Collaborative Research Grant (YCRG).

Established by the University Grants Committee (UGC), the CRF encourages and supports multi-investigator collaboration in diverse disciplines to engage in creative and high-quality cross-disciplinary projects.

The Collaborative Research Project Grant and the Young Collaborative Research Grant (YCRG) aim to enhance university research output and support early-stage academic staff. By encouraging research groups in UGC-funded universities to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, these grants foster both project development and the career progression of researchers.
