he JC STEM Lab of Molecular Imaging led by Professor Haibo JIANG from the Department of Chemistry, together with four other new JC STEM Labs from other Faculties of HKU, were officially established with the generous support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. This collective effort aligns with the University's strategic plan to foster the next generation of leaders in STEM fields and promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration. The focus of the JC STEM Lab of Molecular Imaging is the development of advanced bioimaging technologies that allow us to better understand the complex processes of molecular transportation within biological systems and the critical role they play in human health.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust established the JC STEM Lab Initiative in 2021 to support the laboratory set-up for the awarded scholars under the Government-initiated Global STEM Professorship Scheme. The initiative aims to nurture STEM talent in Hong Kong and promote the translation of new science and technology to social impact.
