We are pleased to announce that the 205th Congregation, Faculty of Science, HKU will be held on December 3, 2021 (Friday)*. To meet physical distancing protocols amid the pandemic situation, we are planning to organise in-person Faculty-based Congregation sessions on a smaller scale – only graduands are invited to attend the ceremony while parents and guests will join in via live broadcast.
As in previous years, the Ceremony is regarded as one of our biggest events and is very much looked forward to by our graduates. Families and friends of our graduates will be proud to see them recognized on stage at this memorable and once-in-a-life occasion. Class of 2021, please mark this important date in your calendar, and we will notify graduates individually by both HKU email and mail by mid of October 2021. Stay tuned.
Kindly note that the University will keep monitoring the situation and make appropriate adjustments to the ceremony arrangements whenever required. If the COVID situation worsens and in-person participation of graduands becomes impossible, a virtual ceremony in an online format will be organised by the Faculties to confer the degrees. The announcement of such a contingency plan will be made by October this year to facilitate the preparations for the Congregation.
