The Workshop on Research Methodology and Sharing Session of SRF/ORF held on January 29, 2018 was the first YSS-exclusive activity in the second semester of 2017-18.
In the first part of the activity, Professor Kenneth M Y Leung, Deputy Director & Professor of the School of Biological Sciences, was invited to share his rich research experience and methodology with attending YSS students. Three past Summer Research Fellowship (SRF)/ Overseas Research Fellowship (ORF) participants, including two YSS students, shared with peers about their summer research experience as well as advantages of participating in the Faculty’s research fellowship schemes in the second part. The event was indeed inspiring, and the attending students benefited a lot from it and felt optimistic about their research pathways. We look forward to seeing their research outcomes in the future!
Note: YSS students have been guaranteed of a place to participate in the SRF Scheme in the summer after the completion of their first year of study, and have further opportunities to participate in other undergraduate research schemes (such as another SRF or ORF) in subsequent years subject to satisfactory academic performance.
