Faculty Retreat 2026

The Faculty Retreat 2026 was held on October 9, 2026, at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, bringing together over 70 faculty and staff members, including professors and lecturers from across our five Schools and Departments.

Through a series of presentations and group discussions, participants took a closer look at key areas shaping the Faculty’s ongoing development. Discussions covered support for junior and mid-career professoriate staff; recruitment and retention of professoriate staff; advancing research excellence and leadership; and sustaining excellence in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, including recruitment, student experience and alumni connections.

More importantly, the Retreat provided an effective platform for colleagues from different school and departments to exchange perspectives, share experiences and better understand issues beyond their own areas of work. The conversations also offered participants an opportunity to gain a broader view of the Faculty’s operations, strategic priorities and development, while exploring how we can collectively respond to emerging opportunities and challenges. These conversations will continue to inform the Faculty’s planning and future initiatives as we work together towards our shared goals.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who joined the Retreat and contributed their time, ideas and perspectives. We look forward to building on the connections and insights generated through the day and continuing the dialogue across the Faculty.
