AI for Science Mini-Symposium 2026
The AI for Science Mini-Symposium, organised by the HKU Faculty of Science, concluded successfully yesterday, 13 January 2026 (Tuesday), at the HKU Main Library. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 90 participants, representing a diverse mix of faculty members, research staff, and students from both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across various university units.
The symposium featured 12 distinguished speakers, headlined by a keynote address from Ms. Maryann Tseng, Senior Managing Director at SenseTime. Experts from the University Library, the Faculty of Science, the School of Computing and Data Science, and the Institute of Data Science contributed their expertise on how AI is fundamentally reshaping scientific discovery. Through insightful presentations on AI-enabled discovery and methodological frontiers, the event fostered a vibrant environment for exploring cross-disciplinary collaborations and innovative solutions to complex scientific challenges.
