Message from the Assistant Dean (Outreach)

It is a pleasure to write to you in my new capacity as Assistant Dean (Outreach) of HKU Science. Having been part of the Faculty for quite some years, I have always felt proud to be among such passionate and driven colleagues—and I am excited to now support our shared mission from this new angle.

 

As the Faculty continues to grow in impact and reach, I am especially inspired by the incredible stories that unfold every day—from pioneering research to innovative teaching and from student achievements to community engagement. One of my hopes in this role is to help make science not only visible but impactful—by sharing the stories that show who we are, what we care about, and why science matters.

 

Outreach, to me, is about connection. It is about building bridges with the HKU community, alumni, collaborators, stakeholders, and the wider public. It is about inviting others into the world of science—and showing how science belongs to all of us.

 

Colleagues, if you have a story to share—big or small—we would love to hear from you. Whether it is a research milestone, a student initiative, or a teaching moment, the Publicity & Outreach Team is here to help bring your work to a wider audience.
