This reform has proven to be very popular to secondary school students, attracting the most number of applicants among all undergraduate programmes in Hong Kong.

The Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science Programme remains the top programme in Hong Kong admitting students with the best quality. The programme provides academic training to students who wish to join the actuarial profession and to be actuaries, so as to cater the needs of the booming insurance industry in Hong Kong and Greater China.

Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science Programme is an integrated programme offering both academic and professional studies, which requires students to complete 300 credit units, with a Science major related to Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Education Professional Core courses with the Faculty of Education. The programme incorporates a graduate teaching qualification and is regarded as the equivalent of a BSc plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Professional aspects of the double degree are phased in gradually over the five years with Pedagogy courses and Teaching Practice in Hong Kong secondary schools.
