UG Students at the Department of Mathematics Received Awards at the Simon Marais Mathematics Competition

A number of our undergraduate students majoring in mathematics joined the Simon Marais Mathematics Competition in November 2017.  The aim of the competition was to encourage creative mathematical problem-solving among undergraduate students.

With the support and training from Dr Ka Ho Law and Dr Doris Haiyu Zhang, lecturers of the Department of Mathematics and Tak Wing Ching, PhD student of the department, the team performed well in the competition and won the following prizes: 

University Prize
1st place
- The University of Hong Kong


Individual Prize
- 3rd place: Wang Daoye

- 10th place: Leung Ga Wai

Pairs Prize
- 6th place: Tang Xun and Feng Yueqing

- 9th place: Gong Zhengyangguang and Ramanujam Kamaraj
